Rehab First

Rehab First is recognized for its integrated, multi-disciplinary case expertise. Its versatility and case insights have been gained from its large client base and its experience over the years with successive regulatory reforms, benefit rules and structures, and changes to civil procedure.
Complemented by its MedNET® roster of pre-qualified, contracted physicians and psychologists, the organization's approximately 80 regulated health professionals are located throughout Ontario, thus making it possible for counsel located in one region to refer clients who are located in another region, and for any case type.

Counsel can also rely on Rehab First's intimate familiarity with the SABS, Extended Health benefits, STD/LTD contractual provisions and WSIB benefits, as well as their claiming processes, benefit qualification and payment co-ordination criteria. In response to the COVID crisis, and anticipated post-COVID demands, an extensive multi-disciplinary virtual services suite was launched in April 2020 (Virtually Connected Rehabilitation), with over 3,000 sessions delivered as of the end of August.

Tort case support is a particular area of expertise. Headed by a Practice Leader and staffed by full-time health professionals who are also Certified Life Care Planners, its dedicated Loss Analytics and Litigation Support practice is the only one of its kind in Ontario. Its focus is loss quantification services such as tort reporting, Employability Assessments and customized Life Care Planning and Reporting.
Rehab First professionals have given expert evidence in numerous legal proceedings.
